Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A rewarding opportunity is available for a passionate Special Education Teacher to work with a dedicated team at an elementary school in the Elizabeth, CO area. This full-time contract role runs from August 5, 2026, to May 21, 2027, and focuses on supporting a manageable caseload of 6-8 students with diverse learning needs.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Previous experience teaching in a special education setting preferred Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging, effective lesson plans tailored to individual students Maintain accurate records for IEPs and student progress Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success Utilize a variety of instructional methods to reach learners at different levels Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere Provide direct instruction, interventions, and support as described in student IEPs Participate in meetings, professional development, and on-going training sessions
