SUMMARY:
The Secondary Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction and support to students with moderate to severe needs or as a SPED generalist. This position focuses primarily on a middle and High school caseload, with potential support at a nearby school. The teacher collaborates with general education staff, families, and support personnel to ensure students receive appropriate services aligned with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
SALARY RANGE
$47,750 - $103,021
Full credit given for years of experience and education
May qualify for up to five additional steps based on experience and education

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Special Education required
Valid Colorado Teaching License or ability to obtain through the Colorado Department of Education (Special Education endorsement required)
Experience at the secondary level (middle/high school) preferred
Experience working with moderate needs, severe needs, or as a SPED generalist is preferred
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Experience working with diverse student populations
Technology proficiency preferred
Coaching opportunities may be available
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide direct instruction aligned to IEP goals
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
Monitor student progress and maintain compliance documentation
Support inclusive practices and co-teaching models
Communicate effectively with families and team members
Participate in team meetings and professional development
