Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a positive impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting new classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year in the Denver area. This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with students who have diverse learning needs within an expanding educational setting. Assignments will be based at one school, and specific details are being coordinated by the district—so flexibility and adaptability are important as teams and preferences are finalized.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (required) Active Colorado Department of Education certification with appropriate endorsements for grade and need-level (Early Childhood Special Ed, Special Education Generalist, Moderate/Severe Needs, etc.) Demonstrated experience working with students on the autism spectrum within a public school district setting Ability to meet district requirements, including completion of background checks and fingerprinting before starting Flexibility for assignment as the district finalizes classroom planning
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and behavioral support to students with varying exceptionalities (grades and caseload to be determined), with a particular focus on autism populations Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Maintain compliance with state and district guidelines for documentation, reporting, and student confidentiality Foster an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere where all students can thrive academically and socially Benefits of the
