POSITION SUMMARY
Centennial Academy of Fine Arts' Center Based program is a part of our Learning Support Services Department, serving students with a range of special education needs (moderate-significant). Qualified applicants will demonstrate program leadership skills which include effective paraprofessional supervision and scheduling, development and implementation of IEPs, coordination of a multi-disciplinary team including related service providers and partnerships with families, community agencies and district personnel. Expectations include strong communication and collaboration, attention to detail and hands-on modeling of skills. Case management and instructional duties will be delivered in a manner that is consistent with district guidance and standards. Instructional models include co-teaching, individual and small group instruction and consultation within general education to ensure the implementation of accommodations to ensure students receive access to their least restrictive environment.
DUTIES:
Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instruction, providing materials which facilitate active learning; monitor student progress and adapt course content delivery methods in order to meet the needs of individual students; instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials, technologies and equipment to support instruction. Promote a culture of high expectations, providing every student with high quality and culturally relevant instruction; create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that reflects and supports the diversity of the student population and community. Develop and implement instructional practices and strategies that include multiple methods of assessment, support students in meeting rigorous learning goals and engage and encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas. Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies, providing a safe, secure and respectful learning environment; communicate student behavior expectations in a positive manner; convey reminders, rules and expectations with consistency and equity, while recognizing the unique qualities and characteristics of the individual. Progress toward professional goals and contribute to school-wide goals through professional learning communities, parent/student surveys, meetings, record keeping, and other measures and methods. Update and maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development as required by school, district, state and federal policies, regulations and laws. Perform related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Successful applicants must be properly licensed for assignment as a Professional Educator according to the Colorado Department of Education.
STARTING SALARY RANGE
(Annual salary schedule based on 1.0 FTE) In addition, this position qualifies for the Center-Based Position stipend

While you may look up your estimated salary on the linked salary schedule, updates for the 2026-2027 school year are contingent upon negotiated increases that are approved by the LPS Board of Education in the summer season. Additionally, know that these salary values are based on a 1.0 FTE working 187 contract days.
