Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding, impactful opportunity supporting students with unique learning needs in the Denver area. A full-time Special Education Teacher is needed for a contract position beginning as soon as possible and continuing through late May 2026. This important role is based in a center-based program at the elementary level, serving students with affective needs in an inclusive, positive school community. The position offers the chance to provide hands-on educational and emotional support while collaborating with dedicated colleagues and families. As an on-site team member, you will play a vital role in individualized instruction, fostering social-emotional growth, and helping every student reach their full potential.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
Current Colorado Department of Education Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement Experience working with students with affective needs or in center-based special education settings preferred Strong behavior management and intervention planning skills Commitment to inclusive education, differentiated instruction, and collaborative problem-solving Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities Include:
Delivering individualized instruction based on IEP goals and each student's strengths Creating a structured, nurturing classroom environment focused on behavioral and academic growth Collaborating closely with general education staff, related service providers, and families Maintaining thorough documentation and ensuring compliance with all special education requirements Participating in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed This role provides the meaningful chance to contribute directly to student success within a supportive, forward-thinking educational community.
