Job Description
About us Steamboat Montessori is a small, public school in Steamboat Springs, CO. We are a free charter school striving to nurture each student's intellectual curiosity through a prepared and peaceful Montessori environment. Our culture is rooted in kindness, belonging, and relentlessly pursuing learning and growing together as global citizens. Our most recent staff survey indicated that 100% of our ~ 40 member team is satisfied or highly satisfied with their job. Steamboat Montessori offers programs for preschool through 5th grade, and provides an authentic Montessori experience to children in the beautiful Yampa Valley. Established in 2016, we serve nearly 200 students in the resort town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We offer locally competitive salaries and benefits as well as PERA retirement benefits. Applicants for this position do not need to have Montessori credentials, but do need to have K-5 teaching experience. SPECIAL EDUCATIONS TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES
We recognize that special education can be a demanding role, and we are committed to making it both humane and sustainable by prioritizing manageable caseloads and strong administrative support so our teachers can focus on what matters most—supporting students. Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) . Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, progress reports, and required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations. Deliver individual and small-group instruction to support student academic and social-emotional growth. Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement accommodations, modifications, and inclusive practices . Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings . Collect and analyze student data and progress monitoring to guide instruction and intervention. Work collaboratively with families, related service providers, and school staff to support student success. Support positive student behavior through evidence-based behavior strategies and supports . Maintain accurate and confidential student records and ensure compliance with IDEA and school policies . Participate in school meetings, professional development, and other duties as assigned .Job Type:
