Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a lasting difference in students' lives as a Special Education Teacher in the Woodland Park area. This contract opportunity offers the chance to contribute your expertise in adapting curriculum and supporting diverse learning needs within a dynamic school environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education Experience designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies and inclusive classroom practices Organizational skills and flexibility to manage multiple priorities and caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and update IEPs according to assessment data and student growth Adapt lesson materials and teaching approaches to accommodate individual learning differences Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills as outlined in IEPs Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to foster an inclusive educational environment Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records Engage with families and guardians to communicate progress and advocate for student needs Contribute to eligibility meetings, progress conferences, and staff professional development sessions This opportunity lets you build meaningful relationships with students and be a vital resource in their educational journey.
