Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in Cheshire, CT. This contract position involves managing a caseload primarily consisting of 8th-grade students, providing specialized instruction and support tailored to each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs. Manage and support a caseload of 8th-grade students, ensuring progress toward academic and social goals. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with middle school students, preferably at the 8th-grade level. Ability to manage caseload responsibilities effectively. Strong communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, families, and outside agencies. Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Schedule and Location:
Position based in Cheshire, CT. Work hours are 7:50 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
