Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Connecticut Educator Certificate with Special Education endorsement Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, comfortable working with a range of age groups Ability to adapt instructional approaches for diverse student needs Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Full-time availability for the duration of the academic year
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) that promote student growth and achievement Provide instruction in a self-contained classroom environment, tailoring strategies to meet unique learning needs Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture focused on student engagement, development, and well-being Collaborate with families, general education staff, and related service providers to ensure holistic student support Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives This contract role offers a consistent weekly schedule of 30-32.5 hours, running from August 24, 2026, through May 21, 2027 (with dates subject to change).
