Job Description:
The Certified Special Education Educator will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs. This role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that each student receives the support and resources they need to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs/PPTs tailored to the individual needs of students. Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs. Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and teaching strategies. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs. Participate in IEP/PPT meetings and other relevant school meetings. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and IEPs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Special Education. Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a team. Experience working with students with diverse needs is preferred.
