Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Teacher of Students with Special Needs Hartford, CT Area Education Industry | 2026-2027 School Year Contract Position Position Overview Soliant Education is seeking certified Special Education Teachers for K-12 openings near Hartford, Connecticut for the 2026-2027 school year. These onsite opportunities are available in a variety of instructional environments, including self-contained classrooms, inclusion settings, and resource support programs. Educators in these roles will work with students who have diverse learning needs, including emotional, behavioral, and academic disabilities. This contract assignment offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with school staff while making a meaningful impact in student development and achievement. Responsibilities The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and academic support based on student IEP goals and district guidelines. Daily responsibilities may include lesson planning, progress monitoring, classroom management, and collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, and families. Teachers may support students in push-in and pull-out models while adapting instructional strategies to meet varying educational and behavioral needs. Candidates should be comfortable working with cross-categorical disabilities and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the school year. Requirements Applicants must hold a valid Connecticut 165 Comprehensive Special Education certificate or 265 Special Education endorsement, or have the ability to obtain certification by August 2026. DSAP certificates will not be accepted for these openings. Previous experience in K-12 special education settings is preferred, particularly in classrooms serving students with learning, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively within a school-based team are essential for success in this role. Compensation and Benefits Pay for this position ranges from $35.50 to $50.75 per hour depending on degree level, educational background, and professional experience. Soliant Education offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, along with a 401(k) retirement plan. Employees are also provided with weekly pay throughout the duration of the assignment. This is a full-time contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 academic year.
