Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive elementary resource setting. This part-time contract role serves K-5 students in a pull-out classroom, offering focused support to help each child excel academically and socially. The position follows the school calendar, starting mid-September 2026 through June 2027, with a steady schedule Monday through Thursday from 9am to 2pm (20 hours weekly). What we're looking for: Valid 165 or 165 CT Special Education PK-12 certification (DSAP licenses are not accepted) Solid background working with elementary-age children in special education settings Experience with individualized instruction and resource room/pull-out models preferred Skills in developing and implementing IEPs, adapting curriculum, and using evidence-based teaching strategies Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families Your role will include: Delivering tailored, small-group and one-on-one instruction to K-5 students with diverse learning needs Planning and adapting lessons, scaffolded by students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Partnering with classroom teachers and related service providers to integrate and monitor student progress Maintaining accurate documentation for IEP goals, accommodations, modifications, and student records Fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where each student feels empowered to learn and succeed This opportunity offers a pay range of $37-$47 per hour, reflecting experience and certification.
