Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract This position offers an opportunity to support high school students with special education needs in a dynamic learning environment. The assignment is based in North Grosvenordale, CT, with a schedule from 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM, running until June 11. Responsibilities include delivering specialized instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in both inclusion and resource classroom settings. The role requires collaboration with general education teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive atmosphere conducive to student achievement. Monitoring and adjusting instructional strategies based on student progress is essential, as well as ensuring adherence to all state and district special education regulations. Qualifications for this role include an active Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification for grades 9-12. Candidates must hold a full certification, as provisional licenses are not accepted. Experience working with mild to moderate special education populations is preferred, emphasizing ability to manage a caseload within an inclusion/resource model effectively.
