This contract position near Waterbury, CT is an opportunity to bring your passion and professionalism to a dynamic school setting.
What We're Looking For:
Active Special Education Teacher certification (required) Demonstrated experience working with students with a variety of disabilities (mild, moderate, or severe) Strong grasp of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance Ability to adapt standard curricula for individualized learning Knowledge of best instructional practices tailored for special education Excellent communication skills with parents, staff, and administration Strong organizational skills and a collaborative mindset
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students Deliver engaging lessons and evidence-based interventions that accommodate diverse learning levels Utilize data to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly Partner with general education teachers to promote successful inclusion Foster positive relationships with students to encourage participation and build confidence Maintain accurate records of student performance and adhere to all federal, state, and district regulations Attend IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and relevant professional development You'll find great satisfaction in empowering students and advocating for their success.
