Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a middle school resource room setting. This full-time, onsite position runs from late September through the end of December, covering a maternity leave. You will have the unique chance to work closely with 6th-8th grade students, providing essential educational support and fostering growth during a pivotal time in their academic journey.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification Previous experience working with middle school students preferred Strong understanding of IEP planning, implementation, and documentation Ability to manage a diverse caseload of up to 20 students Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Adaptability and problem-solving abilities in a dynamic classroom environment
What You'll Do:
Deliver individualized instruction in a resource room setting to students in grades 6-8 Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, tracking student progress and adjusting plans as needed Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure effective inclusion strategies Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and support strategies Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning for all students Participate in meetings, professional development, and school initiatives as required Experience the fulfillment of helping students achieve their potential, while collaborating within a supportive school community.
