Paras Woodbridge School District•4.4 Woodbridge, CT Job Details Seasonal $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Behavior management for students with special needs Teacher collaboration Working with individuals with disabilities Working with students Direct support Working with students with special education needs Data collection IEP implementation Entry level Full Job Description From June 29•July 30, 2026, the Woodbridge School District will be conducting Extended School-Year (ESY) Program for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) indicating summer instruction at the Beecher Road School. The ESY Program will hold classes daily, Monday-Thursday from June 29•July 30, 2026 depending on student needs, 8 AM and 10 AM, or 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The week of June 29, classes will be June 29, 30, July 1 and 2. Teachers' Assistants will be compensated at a $20/hr. hourly rate.
Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate paraeducators to support our learners during the Extended School Year (ESY) program, which runs from June 29 to July 30th . The ESY program provides continuity of services for students with disabilities, helping them maintain the skills they've developed during the school year and preventing regression over the summer months. The ESY program supports students in a dynamic and engaging environment that includes both academic and life skills components, including social-emotional learning (SEL). Preference will be given to candidates who are available for the full duration of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Support:
Assist in providing specialized support to students with disabilities in both small group and one-on-one settings under the guidance of a teacher or related service provider. Help implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to ensure students' goals and objectives are addressed. Support academic, life skills, and SEL instruction as part of a holistic approach to student development. Provide behavioral and emotional support as needed, helping to maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with a team of professionals, including special education teachers, OT, SLP, PT, Literacy specialists, and Mental Health providers, to ensure holistic support for students. Assist with data collection.
Qualifications:
Required Certifications:
A valid certification as a paraeducator
Experience:
Prior experience working with students with disabilities is preferred. Experience assisting in academic, life skills, or SEL programs is a plus.
