Special Education Teacher | Washington, District of Columbia ProCare Therapy - 3.9 Washington, DC Job Details Contract $24.82 - $47.82 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications School experience Classroom experience Special Education Certification Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. This contract opportunity is ideal for Special Education Teachers with a passion for inclusive, child-centered instruction, particularly those who bring experience in PreK3-K and a focused understanding of learning support. Candidates with an International Baccalaureate (IB) background or those who are fluent in Mandarin Chinese are especially encouraged to apply, though these are preferences and not requirements. Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience supporting early years students (PreK3-K) Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (preferred) Proficiency or fluency in Mandarin Chinese (preferred, not required) Proven ability to tailor instruction for students with diverse learning needs Strong collaborative and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small group support services to early years students Develop and implement IEPs and learning support strategies aligned with school policies Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and family members Promote an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment meeting social, emotional, and academic needs Document student growth and maintain open communication with all stakeholders Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to school initiatives
