Job Description

Super Cichlids Inc is a family-owned business established in 2014, known for its passion in fish-keeping and providing high-quality fish. Lisa, with her lifelong passion for fish, and her husband Martin, who retired from the Air Force, opened Super Cichlids, a 5000 sq ft retail location with over 16,000 gallons of tanks showcasing exotic fish from around the world. They have also partnered with Stendker Discus in Germany to start a breeding facility in the US, focusing on breeding and shipping unique discus fish
Position Overview:
As a Full-Time Tropical Fish Specialist, you will play a critical role in the daily operations of our store, ensuring the health and well-being of our aquatic life, assisting customers with their needs, and maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetics of our tanks and displays. This role requires availability to work weekends as part of the regular schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert care for our tropical fish, including feeding, tank cleaning, and health monitoring. Assist customers by answering questions, offering advice, and helping them select the right products for their aquatic pets. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all aquatic displays and store areas. Conduct water quality tests and ensure all aquatic systems are functioning correctly. Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and organizing products. Work collaboratively with the team to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements:
Passion for tropical fish and aquatic life. Previous experience in a pet store, aquarium, or similar setting is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work full-time hours, including mandatory weekends. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. High school diploma or equivalent.
