Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to a fulfilling, dynamic contract position in a supportive educational setting near Apopka, FL. We are actively interviewing qualified candidates to fill several roles for passionate educators who are eager to make an impact on students' lives. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) with on-site responsibilities beginning as soon as possible and extending through late May 2027. Assignments may span multiple campuses and will involve students of varying age groups; specific caseload details and school placements will be confirmed during the hiring process.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Educator Certification National Certification in Visual Impairment (or eligibility to obtain) Experience working as a teacher for students who are visually impaired Completion of a district background check prior to employment Strong communication skills and adaptability in diverse learning environments Commitment to fostering inclusivity and accessibility in education
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and group instruction for students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials as needed Assess and monitor students' progress, setting and achieving educational goals Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service professionals Advocate for accessible technologies and accommodations to ensure equitable learning opportunities Maintain accurate records and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings Participate in professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices
