Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by offering your expertise in visual impairment education to students and staff throughout a district, all while working remotely in a contract, part-time capacity. This role is ideal for a certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired seeking flexibility and the opportunity to mentor and guide school-based professionals across multiple locations from a distance. Your work will focus on enabling staff and students to thrive—particularly during the early months of the academic year—with ongoing support and the use of specialized tools and strategies. What you'll need: Active Florida Educator Certification (required) Experience teaching or supporting students who are visually impaired Familiarity with braille instruction and assistive technology Comfort delivering guidance virtually to educators and teams Ability to build strong relationships and communication lines with staff across varied schools Fingerprinting in compliance with Florida school district (can consider existing prints through AHCA Clearinghouse) Willingness to apply for and obtain the JLA badge after clearance Key responsibilities: Coach and support school-based staff to expand their knowledge and confidence in serving visually impaired students Deliver targeted guidance in braille instruction, technology integration, and accessible teaching methods Offer specialized assistance for staff working with students who have complex needs Contribute to consistent, high-quality educational access across the district, supplementing in-house TVI resources Adjust support throughout the year as school staff become more equipped, focusing on sustainability This contract position begins August 10, 2026, and concludes May 28, 2027, calling for 12-15 hours per week.
