Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking dedicated and passionate Traditional Classroom Teachers to foster a positive learning environment for students across various grade levels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, managing classroom activities, integrating a Christian worldview, and supporting student development in academic and social-emotional areas. At Covenant Community School, we believe that teaching is a calling. We partner with families to shape the heart, minds, and God-given purpose of each child-while giving educators the freedom, support, and flexibility to teach with excellence. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and early childhood education. Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies to create a safe and productive learning environment. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and regular evaluations; adjust instruction accordingly. Incorporate learning technology and library services to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement. Provide tutoring and additional support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism or requiring early intervention. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, education administration tasks, and school-wide initiatives. Mentor students by fostering social skills, mentoring programs, and supporting their overall well-being. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral reports while ensuring compliance with school policies. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities. Skills Proven experience working with students in a classroom setting across various age groups; familiarity with early childhood education and childhood development principles. Strong classroom management skills coupled with behavior management techniques to maintain an organized learning environment. Excellent communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues effectively. Proficiency in lesson planning, curriculum development, and integrating learning technology into lessons. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures, literacy education strategies, math instruction, and tutoring methods. Writing skills necessary for preparing educational materials, reports, and documentation. This position is ideal for educators committed to community, stability, and want to make an impact in our community.
