We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Nursery Care Specialist to help maintain plant health, organization, and daily nursery operations. This is primarily a plant care role. Reptile care is a small part of the position and involves basic daily care for our small in-house collection of geckos. About the Role The Nursery Care Specialist is responsible for keeping plants healthy, clean, organized, and ready for sale. Daily work includes watering, monitoring plant health, checking for pests, potting, cleaning work areas, preparing soil mixes, and helping maintain accurate inventory. This role requires someone who is observant, consistent, hands-on, and able to follow care protocols closely. A strong interest in plants is important, and prior nursery, greenhouse, or rare plant experience is preferred. Reptile Care In addition to plant care, this position includes light care for a small collection of geckos. Duties include feeding, watering, basic enclosure cleaning, checking temperature and humidity, and reporting any health or behavior concerns. Prior reptile experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided. Responsibilities Daily watering, plant maintenance, and health checks Pest monitoring, treatment support, and disease prevention Potting, up-potting, cleaning, and organizing plants Mixing soil, fertilizer, and plant care treatments as directed Maintaining clean, organized nursery and sales areas Assisting with inventory counts and plant organization Basic gecko feeding, watering, enclosure checks, and cleaning Following care routines, task lists, and recordkeeping procedures Requirements Experience with tropical plants, rare plants, nursery work, or plant collecting preferred Strong attention to detail and good observation skills Reliable, consistent, and able to work independently Comfortable working on your feet in a hands-on nursery environment Able to lift up to 40 lbs Willing to learn and follow detailed care protocols Basic reptile/gecko experience is a plus, but not required What We Offer Hands-on experience with rare tropical plants Training in nursery care, pest management, and plant handling Supportive team environment Opportunity to grow with the company Employee discounts on plants and supplies
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Application Question(s): This is a hands-on nursery role that requires standing for most of the shift, lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, reaching, watering, cleaning, and working in warm/humid conditions. Are you comfortable with these physical requirements? This position is full-time, Monday through Friday from 12 PM-8 PM in Lake Worth, FL. Are you available for this schedule on a consistent basis? This role requires following detailed care routines, noticing small changes in plant health, and completing repetitive daily tasks without constant reminders. Does that type of work suit you?
