Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs. In this vital role, you will design and implement individualized educational plans, foster an inclusive classroom environment, and collaborate with families, therapists, and support staff to promote student growth. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help unlock each child's potential, ensuring they thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing setting. Duties Develop and execute personalized lesson plans aligned with students' to meet their unique learning goals. Adapt curriculum materials to accommodate various disabilities, including autism, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, and behavioral health needs. Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies such as speech therapy techniques, behavioral management, and literacy and math instruction to enhance student engagement. Conduct assessments, including standardized testing and progress monitoring, to evaluate student development and inform instructional adjustments. Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, counselors, and other specialists to coordinate interventions like behavioral therapy and early intervention programs. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement techniques, classroom management strategies, and behavior management plans. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and ensure compliance with educational standards and legal requirements. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities in diverse settings such as private schools or preschool environments. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development tailored for special needs learners. Experience with early childhood education frameworks like Montessori or preschool methodologies is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for mentoring students and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with IEP processes, standardized testing procedures, behavior management techniques, and behavioral health strategies.
