Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role where you can make a genuine impact guiding students with exceptionalities to learn, grow, and achieve their best. This contract opportunity is perfect for experienced special education professionals passionate about supporting diverse learners in a self-contained elementary environment. This assignment will have you leading a dedicated self-contained Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classroom at an elementary campus in the northwest area. You'll encourage and empower a variety of students with different learning needs and abilities, helping them reach academic milestones and fostering a positive, inclusive environment. The schedule is 35 hours a week (7 hours per day), with a strong support network and resources available.
Qualifications:
Active Florida ESE Certification AND K-6 or PK-3 General Education Certification. Previous, hands-on experience managing a self-contained classroom. Strong commitment to collaboration, communication, and compassionate teaching. Familiarity with FL fingerprinting requirements and willingness to complete credentialing steps as needed (prior prints may be eligible for verification). Ready to participate in a thorough prescreen interview process.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead instruction and individualized support for students with varying exceptionalities. Develop and adapt instructional resources to meet each student's unique learning profile. Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom atmosphere to promote student success. Collaborate closely with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure holistic student growth.
