Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate VPK Lead Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment that fosters the academic and social development of students. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development, effective behavior management strategies, and the ability to work collaboratively with students of varying needs. The Lead Teacher will play a crucial role in guiding and mentoring the support teacher while ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with educational standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and positive behavior among students. Monitor and assess student progress, providing individualized support and tutoring as needed to enhance learning outcomes. Collaborate with parents, staff, and administration to address student needs and promote child welfare. Lead classroom activities that encourage physical education and overall well-being. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral issues while ensuring compliance with school policies. Stay current with developments in childhood education and participate in professional development opportunities. Requirements Hold a Staff Credential and be knowledgeable with the VPK requirements. Proven experience working with students in a classroom setting, particularly in private school environments. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and effective behavior management techniques. Familiarity with special education practices is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of all students.
