Job Description

Early Child Care Twos Teacher- Immediate Hire! Our childcare center is looking for a right candidate who will take the initiative and responsibility in social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care, which may include toddlers and/or preschool age children; develops partnerships with birth parents/child's caregivers to engage and encourage parent's participation in the programs. Teachers are also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local government contracting agencies; and works collegial with other staff members of Redwood. Discount on Childcare offered! Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children's learning and growth. Perform on-going developmental evaluation of children as required by funding sources and Redwood and develop lesson plans and follow Redwood curriculum implementation that addresses the individual needs of each child. Provide responsive care to all children by adapting daily caregiving routines and plans to the interest and needs of the individual child and group. Prepare developmental progress reports as needed. Demonstrate cultural competency and respect for the child's background by incorporating the cultural, linguistic in the lesson plans. Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents/caregivers Provide a classroom environment that encourages parents participation When needed to plan periodic conferences to discuss children's developmental process, needs and interests. Liaison with children and families to ensure smooth transition from class to class. Maintain accurate, complete and timely records; completes daily reports, incident reports, and attendance records Maintains up to date child's profile and other records as needed Completes and reports any symptoms of child abuse to director and/or abuse hotline Assures a healthy, safe, clean and developmental appropriate environment for children Follows classroom schedule Keeps classroom clean & free from dust, toys sanitized daily Report all essential needs to immediately supervisor Remove broken toys, equipment. Reports all staffing and classrooms concerns to director in a timely manner Be respectful of management decisions and requests and refrain from being argumentative In accordance with our "team" philosophy the person filling this position may occasionally be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed on this job description. Education Must have or
COMPLETE
on time the 45 hours Child Development or Early childhood Education (AA/AS/Degree) required by the State of Florida Recent 2/3 Classroom experience is required, working at a Child Care Center CPR & 1st Aid (must keep valid and updated at all times). Maintain continuing education hours required by the State of Florida in age group currently teaching.
