Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact guiding students with exceptionalities as a dedicated Special Education Teacher in a self-contained classroom for the upcoming school year. This is a contract role based on-site at one elementary school in Jacksonville, FL (North West region), with the opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of students and help them achieve their educational goals. In this role, you'll lead a classroom for students with varying learning levels and exceptionalities, providing individualized support and classroom management. The position is full-time at 35 hours per week (7 hours each school day), with your school location confirmed prior to the start date of August 3, 2026. The assignment runs through May 28, 2027, offering a stable and rewarding teaching environment.
Key Qualifications:
Active Florida ESE certification required K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification required Proven experience in a self-contained classroom setting Ability to work full-time, on-site (remote or VOCO not permitted) Compliance with all fingerprinting and credentialing requirements in
Florida Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a self-contained ESE classroom Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Foster a supportive, inclusive environment tailored to diverse learners Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families to support student success Collect and document student progress data
