Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of exceptional learners by leading a self-contained ESE classroom in the northwestern region. As a Special Education Teacher in an elementary setting, you'll have the opportunity to support students with varying learning levels and unique needs, fostering a nurturing and productive educational environment. This is a contracted, on-site-only position starting August 3, 2026, and concluding May 28, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour workweek, Monday through Friday.
Key Qualifications:
Active Florida ESE certification required K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification required Recent experience teaching in a self-contained ESE classroom Familiarity with a wide spectrum of learning differences and exceptionalities Excellent classroom management and individualized instruction skills Ability to collaborate with educational teams and families
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction tailored for students' IEP goals Establish a safe, inclusive, and responsive classroom environment Develop lesson plans and assess student progress Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievements and needs Maintain documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
Additional Details:
Single school placement (location confirmed prior to assignment), primarily serving elementary grades Must complete credentialing, including fingerprints (or verification through the AHCA Clearinghouse and JLA badge issuance) Participation in an internal eligibility interview and a virtual "prescreen" interview required prior to placement If you're passionate about guiding students with exceptional needs and meet the above certifications and ESE experience, we invite you to take the next step in your career.
