Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Learning Pod Teacher to join our innovative educational team. In this role, you will lead small group instruction tailored to middle school students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Your expertise in curriculum development, classroom management, and special education will be essential in supporting diverse learners, including those with developmental disabilities and autism. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with educational standards, including math , literacy, creative writing, and science education. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring accommodations and modifications support their unique needs. Deliver engaging instruction using diverse teaching methods such as Montessori techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavioral therapy to promote student success. Manage classroom behavior proactively through effective behavior management and classroom management strategies to create a safe, respectful environment. Utilize learning technology tools and digital resources to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement. Conduct assessments, including standardized testing preparation, to monitor student progress and inform instructional adjustments. Collaborate with parents, specialists, and educational administrators to support student development and maintain accurate records of IEPs and educational progress. Qualifications Proven classroom experience working with middle school students in private or public school settings. Strong knowledge of curriculum development across core subjects such as math, literacy education, creative writing, and physical education. Familiarity with special education practices including IEP development, behavioral therapy, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays. Expertise in teaching math concepts like Algebra and Calculus as well as literacy skills aligned with AP style and Chicago Manual of Style standards. Experience applying teaching strategies such as Montessori methods or applied behavior analysis (ABA). Excellent communication skills for mentoring students, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging families effectively. Ability to manage classroom dynamics using proven behavior management techniques while fostering an inclusive learning environment. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and proficiency in tutoring students across various subjects.
