General Scope of Responsibilities:
The Case Experience Lead will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting the implementation of real-world, case-based learning experiences within Jefferson High School's Freshman Seminar. This role will leverage design thinking principles and collaboration with building level and district level staff and external partners to create authentic, community-connected learning aligned to the district's Portrait of a Future Ready Graduate. The Case Experience Lead will work closely with Freshman Seminar teachers, academy teams, and community partners, including collaboration with Iowa BIG, to integrate career-connected, interdisciplinary learning experiences into the freshman year. This role will support cross-content planning, build teacher capacity, and develop a replicable and sustainable model for case-based learning that can be maintained beyond the duration of MSAP funding. The Case Experience Lead will engage in ongoing feedback cycles with district support personnel to ensure alignment, coherence, and continuous improvement of the freshman experience.

Building Administrator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop case-based, real-world learning experiences aligned to CRCSD Profile of a Graduate competencies, priority standards, and the Portrait of a Future Ready Graduate Utilize design thinking principles to create, prototype, and refine authentic learning experiences connected to school, community, and industry challenges Collaborate with Freshman Seminar and academy teachers to ensure alignment across content areas, competencies, and real-world applications Support interdisciplinary planning and implementation of case experiences within academy teams Build teacher capacity through co-planning, modeling, and coaching related to case-based and experiential learning practices Partner with Iowa BIG and other community organizations to: Identify authentic problems and project opportunities Develop sustainable community partnerships Connect students to real-world learning experiences Develop and document a repeatable case design and implementation process, including: Problem identification and framing Learning outcome alignment Student deliverables and feedback cycles Support the ongoing refinement of Freshman Seminar scope and sequence to ensure coherence and alignment across the course Provide targeted professional learning aligned to teacher growth goals and the integration of real-world learning experiences Build staff capacity to advance equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive instruction through authentic, student-centered learning Support the implementation of the MSAP grant plan as it relates to Freshman Seminar redesign and experiential learning Monitor and reflect on implementation through structured feedback cycles with staff and district teams, using student engagement and learning data to inform continuous improvement This role will intentionally operate within a collaborative planning and feedback structure, ensuring ongoing alignment with district initiatives and support teams
Position Notes:
This is a three-year, grant-funded position designed to build internal capacity and sustainable systems for case-based learning The role will sunset after three years, with the expectation that systems, tools, and staff capacity are established for ongoing implementation This position is not a traditional coordinator or teacher leader role, but a design and innovation role focused on developing and embedding high-quality, real-world learning experiences

The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. workday. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the classroom including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing, in movement while supervising indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures but will work outdoors when supervising students outside of the classroom.
