Special Education Teacher

Overview This is a dynamic, hands-on teaching role where learning goes far beyond the classroom walls. We're out in the community every Friday on field trips, exploring real-world experiences together. Staff actively alongside students fostering engagement, skill development, and meaningful real-world connections. Flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to "jump in" are essential, as learning often involves getting our hands dirty and embracing every experience together. Responsibilities Maintain an active teaching license in Florida, ESE certification not required. Develop and implement lesson plans and adapting curriculum to meet the needs of individual students. Manage classroom by promoting positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies. Collaborate with other teachers in lesson planning and curriculum development, particularly within an experiential and hands-on approach to learning. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and behavior. Attend and chaperone weekly field trips with our neurodiverse learners and parent chaperones.
