Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deaf & Hard of Hearing Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students with hearing differences and experienced in creating inclusive, communication-rich learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual and group settings Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet diverse learning and communication needs Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, interpreters, and related service providers Support students' communication development (e.g., ASL, auditory/oral approaches, or total communication) Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with IEP goals Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting Provide guidance and resources to staff and families to support student success
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field Active state teaching certification/licensure in Deaf & Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or experience with auditory/oral communication methods Knowledge of IEP processes, special education laws, and best practices Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills Previous school-based experience preferred
