Special Education Teacher (Kindergarten & 1st Grade)

Schedule:
Monday through Friday l 7:30am-4:00pm Full Job Description Affluent Learning Center is seeking two compassionate, structured, and highly motivated Special Education Teachers to support one Kindergarten and one 1st Grade students in a specialized learning environment. This role focuses on providing individualized academic instruction, behavioral support, and social-emotional development for children with neurodevelopmental and learning differences. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, experienced in working with diverse learning needs, and committed to helping children build confidence, independence, and foundational academic skills within a collaborative multidisciplinary setting. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student learning levels and educational goals
  • Provide instruction in foundational academic areas including reading, writing, math, communication, and social skills
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and developmental needs
  • Maintain a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
  • Support students with transitions, routines, emotional regulation, and classroom participation
  • Implement positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies to support student success IEP Implementation & Progress Monitoring
  • Assist with implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and educational goals
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation of academic and behavioral performance
  • Conduct ongoing observations and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members regarding student development
  • Support early intervention and individualized educational planning when applicable Collaboration & Family Communication
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavior analysts, and other clinical team members
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress, classroom updates, and concerns
  • Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and educational planning discussions
  • Work closely with support staff to ensure consistency across academic and therapeutic services Classroom Management & Compliance
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment
  • Follow school policies, educational standards, and state guidelines
  • Support student supervision, classroom safety, and daily classroom operations
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and FERPA regulations where applicable Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field
  • Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, behavioral challenges, or learning disabilities.
  • Must possess strong classroom management and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary pediatric setting Preferred Qualifications
  • Florida teaching certification in Special Education or Elementary Education
  • Experience with Kindergarten and/or 1st Grade instruction
  • Knowledge of IEP implementation and behavior intervention strategies
  • Experience in private school, therapy center, or early intervention environments
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required Core Competencies
