Job Description
We are searching for passionate Certified Reformer Instructors to join our team as a Rotating Sub and/or for Monday evening classes. About us Sacred Thread is a small, women-owned, inclusive yoga & pilates studio in the Summerhill area near Grant Park. We approach yoga as a lifestyle—not just a workout. We believe it's hard to feel joy when our bodies need to heal and our practices are intended to create space for humans to better understand themselves and their needs & create a pathway toward wellness. We believe our culture often commodifies our physical form, and that our bodies are more than a commodity... We provide services to all ages
- from babies to elders and in between.
Our work environment is:
a relaxed & connection-oriented atmosphere bright & full of natural light in the amazing neighborhood of Summerhill, off the new high-speed bus route and very walkable Our Pay is based on an hourly rate, with pay for before and after class covering your complete time in studio. Our reformer teachers start at $35-45 per hour depending upon experience with a strong monthly bonus program. We review compensation at 6 months and again annually thereafter with the goal of offering raises to our strongest performers every year.We offer:
Growth opportunities Casual attire Free Yoga classes + Mat Pilates classes a Discount on reformer classes, trainings & retreats and more In this role, you'll be responsible for guiding classes, creating goodwill within our community, owning the teaching room and developing a love & reverence for pilates and wellness within your students (as well as guiding them deeper into their bodies).Essential Job Responsibilities:
Elevate our attention to students & ensure all students feel seen Craft classes according to our class descriptions, in an intentional way Deliver classes with passion and credibility- addressing form & alignment Carry the philosophy of mindfulness into your teaching and your interactions with students and co-workers.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required- Pilates Reformer Certification + 6 months of Teaching Experience Desired
- Comprehensive Certification with at least 6+ months of apprenticeship or teaching experience Required
- Highly accountable, on time, consistent communicator Required
- Customer service skills Friendly, outgoing personality with optimistic attitude Team player Passion for building community & relationships; ability to create meaningful connections with a diverse group
