Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time contract opportunity is designed for a dedicated educator ready to provide quality instruction for students across multiple school campuses. You'll collaborate with a welcoming staff and help create an inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Your expertise in Deaf Education will be highly valued as you help students meet their goals. You'll work approximately 20 hours per week throughout the academic year, beginning July 27th, 2026, and concluding on May 25th, 2027.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Possession of a Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education - Deaf Education (P-12), or Special Education General Curriculum (P-12) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement Prior experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is highly desirable Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working across teams and multiple school locations Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction tailored for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in various school settings Collaborate with general and special educators to support student development Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress Communicate regularly with families and other professionals to support each student's success Foster an inclusive, accessible classroom environment
