Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in an inclusion setting at a friendly, collaborative elementary school community. This full-time assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with possible additional days for pre- or post-planning. You'll collaborate with two dedicated teams and provide specialized instruction for a caseload of approximately 8-9 students.
Ideal Profile:
Holds an active GaPSC Teaching Educator Certificate with the Special Education General Curriculum endorsement Experienced in special education, particularly within inclusion settings Skilled at developing and adapting individualized instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational abilities Prepared to thoughtfully support students' academic and social-emotional development Available for full-time (37.5 hrs/week) contracted hours throughout the academic year, with flexibility around planning days
Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instructional support to students with disabilities in an inclusion classroom Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and special education teams to plan and implement IEPs Maintain accurate documentation on student progress and accommodations Participate in ongoing parent communications, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive This role offers you the chance to work in a supportive school community that values your expertise and collaborative spirit.
