Job Summary:
Under the direction of the supervisor, develops lesson plans and presents lessons in subject areas to students. Plans, organizes, and implements an appropriate instructional program and learning environment for students.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops individual instruction plans, provides instruction, completes reports and tutors students. Adapts teaching and instructional methods or uses specialized techniques to individualize instruction. Assesses student`s needs, prepares lesson plans, provides instruction and evaluates and completes reports on students. May supervise the work of assigned staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university and be eligible to obtain a Georgia Clear and Renewable Teacher Certificate as required by statute. OR Hold a Provisional Georgia Educator's Certificate AND eligible to obtain a Georgia Clear and Renewable Teacher Certificate as required by statute.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess the following: SRT
- 4 or higher (4-8) or (6-12) in English Language Arts.
Note:
Prior teaching experience in a youth facility or with at risk youth is a plus but not required.
