Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by providing educational support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across several schools. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with educators, students, and families in a rewarding part-time role. Serving multiple sites and collaborating within a supportive district environment, you'll play a vital part in boosting student success and communication access.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education - Deaf Education (P-12) OR Special Education General Curriculum (P-12) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement Experience teaching or supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred Strong knowledge of assistive technology, communication strategies, and adaptive instruction Ability to work across multiple school locations with flexibility and professionalism Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, aligning with IEP goals Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student inclusion and academic progress Assist in adapting curriculum and materials to meet diverse communication needs Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records to support continuous improvement Consult with educational teams about best practices, accommodations, and hearing technologies Foster a positive, accessible, and inclusive learning environment This contract role starts July 27th, 2026, and continues through May 25th, 2027, working approximately 20 hours per week during the school year.
