Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a positive impact in education as a teacher for students with visual impairments in a supportive school environment near Cumming, GA. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals who are dedicated to making learning accessible and engaging for all students. You will work across multiple campuses, collaborating with staff and families to create inclusive educational experiences.
Key Qualifications:
Current Special Education - Visual Impairment (P-12) teaching certificate, or Special Education certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement Experience supporting visually impaired students in school settings preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt instructional strategies and materials Commitment to fostering independence and self-advocacy in studentsRole Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments across various school locations Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure services meet IEP goals Conduct and interpret functional vision and learning media assessments Develop and modify lesson plans using appropriate accommodations and assistive technology Engage families in the educational process and provide resources as needed Maintain accurate documentation for progress monitoring, IEP reporting, and service delivery Advocate for accessibility and inclusion throughout the district This part-time position offers a consistent schedule of approximately 20 hours per week, running from July 27th, 2026, through May 25th, 2027.
