Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings near Dahlonega, GA. This part-time contract role involves working across multiple school locations from July 27th, 2026, through May 25th, 2027. As a skilled educator specialized in visual impairment, you'll have the opportunity to empower students and equip them for success while collaborating with dedicated school teams.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education - Visual Impairment (P-12) teaching certificate OR Special Education certificate with a recognized Visual Impairment endorsement Prior teaching experience or practicum with visually impaired students is highly valued Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet the individualized needs of students Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Understanding of assistive technology and its applications for students with visual impairments
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instructional support to students with visual impairments across multiple school sites Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Provide consultation and professional development to classroom teachers and school staff Assess student needs, track progress, and communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams Ensure accessibility of curriculum materials and classroom environments Advocate for student inclusion and accommodations that foster independence This position spans approximately 20 hours per week, offering a great fit for educators seeking flexibility while making a significant difference in the lives of students.
