The ideal candidate will be committed to creating an inclusive and enriching learning environment where every student can achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement curricula for K-5 students with diverse learning needs, including academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals. Provide direct differentiated instruction to students individually and in small group settings; adapting teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs. Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and make data-driven instructional decisions. Collaborate effectively with support staff, parents, and administrators to ensure seamless integration and support for students. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, assistive technologies, and classroom management techniques to create a positive and productive learning environment. Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with school, state, and federal guidelines. Stay current with best practices, educational research, and legal mandates related to special education. Foster a classroom culture of respect, acceptance, and high expectations for all students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education. Valid state teaching certification/licensure in Special Education (K-5 or equivalent). Demonstrated experience working with K-5 students with a range of disabilities. Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations (IDEA). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.

Experience with specific instructional methodologies -
Behavioral Intervention & Management:
( ABA) & Functional Communication Training (FCT), Communication & Literacy for
Nonverbal Students:
AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) &
Structured Tasks & Visuals. Knowledge of positive behavior interventions and supports. Experience in small group and co-teaching models. Mon thru Friday 8.30am-3.30pm. Following Gwinnett school calendar.
