Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a part-time contract role supporting multiple school locations in a welcoming district near Flowery Branch, GA. You'll make a meaningful difference by providing specialized instruction and advocacy for students with visual impairments, fostering their academic and personal growth through comprehensive support. This position begins July 27th, 2026, and concludes May 25th, 2027, with a flexible schedule of approximately 20 hours per week.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Special Education - Visual Impairment (P-12) teaching certificate OR a valid Special Education certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement Prior experience teaching visually impaired students is highly valued In-depth understanding of educational technology and adaptive resources for visual impairments Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments across multiple school settings Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and develop accessible materials Conduct functional vision and educational assessments, and implement appropriate interventions Advocate for student needs, ensuring accessibility and equal participation in school activities Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with district and state guidelines Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to develop and review student goals and accommodations Imagine the impact you'll have as you help students build confidence, independence, and success in and out of the classroom!
