Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students across multiple school locations as an educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services. This contract position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with dedicated professionals and help foster a positive, inclusive educational environment. Your expertise will provide vital access and advocacy for learners, ensuring their needs are fully supported from July 27th, 2026, through May 25th, 2027, on a part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
Active Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education - Deaf Education (P-12) OR Special Education General Curriculum (P-12) with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement Proven ability to design and implement individualized educational strategies for D/HH students Skilled in utilizing assistive technology and communication modalities (e.g., sign language, auditory aids) Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families Experience working in a school setting or related environments is highly desirable
Position Responsibilities:
Develop, adapt, and deliver instruction tailored for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple campuses Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote classroom accessibility and inclusion Conduct assessments and participate in IEP development and meetings, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines Provide direct support, resource development, and advocacy for students and their families Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet changing needs Bring your expertise to a role that values personalized learning and collaboration.
