Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a meaningful difference each day helping students achieve their full potential as a teacher of the visually impaired. This rewarding contract position offers the chance to collaborate across multiple school sites, engaging with diverse student populations and dedicated educational teams. The assignment begins July 27, 2026, and concludes May 25, 2027, providing part-time flexibility (approximately 20 hours per week).
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Georgia Special Education - Visual Impairment (P-12) teaching certificate, or a Special Education certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement Proven experience or demonstrable knowledge in teaching students with visual impairments Strong communication skills for partnering effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Adaptability to work across various school environments Dedication to fostering an inclusive and accessible educational experience
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, tailoring strategies to individual student needs Assess and address functional vision, adapting curriculum materials as necessary Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to facilitate accommodations and accessible learning opportunities Consult with families, providing guidance on strategies and adaptive resources Document student progress and actively participate in IEP meetings Advocate for student independence and academic growth across all settings This part-time contract role allows you to expand your professional impact, work a flexible weekly schedule, and support a collaborative network dedicated to student success.
