Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education teacher committed to providing exceptional educational and behavioral support. This engaging contract role offers the opportunity to teach within a Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports (GNETS) program, focusing on students with intensive behavioral, social-emotional, and academic needs. You'll play a vital role guiding students toward success in a positive, structured environment.
What You'll Bring:
Valid Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification Certification across all academic content areas (please be ready to provide documentation) Deep understanding of behavior intervention strategies and classroom management Experience developing, writing, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Must have three completed reference checks (with one from a recent supervisor such as a principal, assistant principal, or coordinator) prior to interview scheduling Previous experience in GNETS or alternative educational settings preferred Additional expertise supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders is a plus CPI, de-escalation, or specialized behavior management training preferred
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized, differentiated instruction to students in the GNETS classroom setting Develop effective IEP goals and adapt teaching strategies to suit individual student needs Provide targeted behavioral interventions and positive reinforcement Work collaboratively with administrators, families, related service providers, and classroom support staff Monitor academic and behavioral progress; maintain accurate compliance documentation Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning atmosphere If you're ready to inspire growth and learning in a dynamic, supportive school environment, we encourage you to apply and help make a difference in the lives of students who need it most.
