About Kūlia Academy Kūlia Academy is a new school in Honolulu, HI. Kūlia Academy focuses on artificial intelligence and data science. It is the first in the U.S. to offer a 7-year program in these subjects. Students will spend 80% of their time in science classes doing experiments and investigations. The school believes that these skills are important for future jobs, and they want to help students prepare for them. About the Position We are looking for exceptional teachers who will prepare our students for 80+ % proficiency in state tests. We are planning to hire a full-time Special Education Math teacher. We hire our ELA teachers on a 12-month contract, rather than a 10-month contract, which adds about $7-8,000/year to your salary. Additional, optional 1-hour work is available on regular school days, which will be compensated at $10,000/year.

Skills and Qualifications Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, social sciences, education, or a related/similar field.

Dual Hawaii Teacher Standards Board Licensure:

in Math and in SPED Collaboration and Teamwork Experience working collaboratively with colleagues across subject area and grade level Experience working with multilingual learners Adept at providing and receiving constructive feedback in a supportive environment Willingness to mentor and coach colleagues, fostering a team-oriented culture Experience with collaborative planning and project-based learning

Experience and additional professional credentials factors into placement on these schedules, and the classification and compensation department for the State of Hawai'i will produce a salary range based on a multitude of factors.
