Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Empower the next generation of learners in a fulfilling, contract-based role supporting K-5 students as a Special Education Resource Teacher. In this position, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives, helping them succeed academically and thrive in a supportive environment. Located near Arlington Heights, IL, this position focuses on providing specialized instruction for elementary students who primarily participate in general education but benefit from additional support to meet their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education for K-5 or eligibility in Illinois Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or working in resource settings is highly preferred Strong understanding of IEP development and case management Ability to implement targeted interventions and instructional modifications Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families Background in executive functioning coaching and academic skill development is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Support K-5 students within the general education setting using push-in and pull-out instructional models Deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals and grade-level curriculum Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide accommodations and ensure access to instructional content Track student progress, document outcomes, and maintain up-to-date records as required by the IEP process Engage families, related service providers, and team members in IEP meetings and ongoing communications Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed This contract opportunity provides a rewarding setting to help young learners reach their academic goals while working closely with a dedicated school community.
