Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. In this contract opportunity, you'll make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher for grades 1-2, delivering cross-categorical instructional programming. This position involves working with a diverse student population at the elementary level, with a focus on supporting students who have a range of academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs. A significant portion of the students are identified with autism, requiring an individualized and responsive approach. Your expertise will be vital in aligning instruction to grade-level standards while also targeting students' unique IEP goals. The classroom environment is well-supported with a dedicated program aide and access to 1:1 support staff as needed. Collaborate closely with related service providers to create an inclusive and structured learning experience. Instructional techniques in this role include structured teaching, visual schedules, sensory supports, behavioral and social-emotional interventions, and proactive communication supports.
