Special Ed Teacher | Bellwood, Illinois ProCare Therapy - 3.9 Bellwood, IL Job Details Contract $28.05 - $48.05 an hour 17 hours ago Qualifications Special Education Certification Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. In this contract opportunity, you'll make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher for grades 1-2, delivering cross-categorical instructional programming. This position involves working with a diverse student population at the elementary level, with a focus on supporting students who have a range of academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs. A significant portion of the students are identified with autism, requiring an individualized and responsive approach. Your expertise will be vital in aligning instruction to grade-level standards while also targeting students' unique IEP goals. The classroom environment is well-supported with a dedicated program aide and access to 1:1 support staff as needed. Collaborate closely with related service providers to create an inclusive and structured learning experience. Instructional techniques in this role include structured teaching, visual schedules, sensory supports, behavioral and social-emotional interventions, and proactive communication supports.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher Experience with cross-categorical classrooms and students with autism preferred Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Skilled in differentiated instruction and use of evidence-based interventions Strong collaborative skills to partner with support staff and service providers
