Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced special education professional to provide meaningful instruction and support for students in a cross-categorical Grade 3 classroom. This contract opportunity focuses on guiding learners with diverse academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs, ensuring personalized learning experiences in an elementary setting. This role involves developing and implementing instructional plans that align with grade-level standards while targeting individualized IEP goals. You'll utilize structured teaching techniques, visual and sensory supports, and behavioral interventions to foster student growth and independence. As a collaborative member of the instructional team, you'll partner with aides and related service providers to deliver comprehensive support throughout the school day.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid special education teaching certification appropriate for elementary grades Experience developing and executing IEPs for students with a variety of exceptionalities Proficiency implementing differentiated instruction and classroom management strategies Strong ability to incorporate assistive technology, communication supports, and sensory accommodations Effective collaborator with the ability to work closely with aides, therapists, and service providers Passion for fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
