Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a significant impact supporting students in a Middle School Intensive Communications Program near Blue Island, IL. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering specialized instruction to a classroom of nine students, including those with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. You'll work in an environment dedicated to functional and life skills development, with support from two paraprofessionals and a comprehensive curriculum.
Key Qualifications:
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement Experience supporting students with Autism or in functional life skills programs preferred Understanding of Unique Learning System or similar life skills-based curriculum Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management abilities Skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphereCore Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs Utilize Unique Learning and integrate hands-on activities (mini-kitchen, laundry, field trips) Collaborate with paraprofessionals to maximize support and engagement Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to encourage growth and independence Foster community participation through organized field trips and daily living skill instruction Maintain accurate documentation in alignment with state and district guidelines Enjoy a rewarding career with a balanced, consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours over five days, working with students spanning K-12 groups.
